El Camino is a short sequence from the Visual Almanac, an
early prototype program produced by the Apple Multimedia Lab. El
Camino is a split-screen comparison of a well-known mile in Silicon
Valley. The footage comes from a California State Department of
Transportation photogrammetry project, which has been filming highways
with a special camera triggered 1 frame every 52.8 feet, or 100
frames per mile.
"El Camino" is part of "Main Streets Then and Now,"
produced by Michael Naimark for the Visual Almanac, Apple Multimedia
Lab, San Francisco
